Winter is in full swing in Niagara Falls and one of the highlights of the snowy season is definitely the production and availability of the region’s world-famous icewine. Niagara icewine is a sweet and delicious dessert wine that everyone should experience at least once in their lives, which is why we have compiled a list of some of the best places to find it while visiting Niagara Falls:

Niagara Icewine Festival

From January 27th-29th, the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls will be transformed into a winter wonderland where you can experience wines from over 20 Niagara wineries, delicious culinary creations from some of the region’s top chefs, and amazing live entertainment. It’s a great way to sample a variety of icewines all in one place and try one-of-a-kind icewine-inspired creations like Peller Estates delicious icewine marshmallows.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Icewine Village

From January 21st-22nd, Queen Street in the historic town of Niagara-on-the-Lake will be transformed into a spectacular Icewine Village in celebration of the region’s famous liquid gold. Guests can sample icewines from world-class Niagara wineries, taste amazing icewine-inspired dishes from top chefs, and have a truly unique winter experience in charming Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Niagara Brewing Company

While this craft brewery by the Falls isn’t serving up icewine in the traditional sense, it is offering a specially-brewed limited-edition Icewine Beer that brings you the best of both worlds all in one bottle. This 9.7% brew brings the complex tastes of wine to a malty cereal grain beer that also features a lingering tropical fruit sweetness. It’s a one-of-a-kind beer that is available only for a limited-time, so make sure to stop by the brewery before it’s gone.

There is no shortage of icewine-inspired events happening throughout Niagara, so when planning your winter getaway to the city make sure to set aside some time for an unforgettable “liquid gold” experience.
